one month with Lumi and our first snow day ❄️

Dear Friends,

Lumi Lund Lan arrived on November 21, 2024. Today marks one month with this tiny new human, who is also a very hungry caterpillar, who is also a wee bear cub, who is also a ravenous little bean. She weighed 7 pounds at birth (what her doctor described as a very “sensible” weight) and has gained 2 whole pounds in 4 weeks. That doesn’t sound like a lot on paper but when I measure out 2 pounds of uncooked rice, it does seem like a substantial amount of growth in a short amount of time.

Every new parent will say this, but the first weeks are truly a blur. My body is still healing and my brain feels as sharp as a bowl of mashed potatoes.
